Friday 27th, April / Etihad Stadium / 7:50
The Bulldogs and Carlton face off tonight, in what probably looked like more a promising encounter pre-season than it does now. Carlton are still yet to find a win, while the Dogs sit on the bottom with them with only 1 win. Both sides struggle to score and are top two for points conceded per game so we could yet see a high-scoring game. * *to this years low-scoring standards. I’m looking forward to this game, despite the teams placing on the ladder. Under the roof at Etihad doesn’t always mean a clean game of football but these sides have average 74% efficiency in these last two low-scoring fixtures. The Bulldogs were good against Essendon at the ground, while the Blues lost to the Suns on their last game at Etihad. The Bont has scored 5 goals combined in his last two against Carlton so he’ll be a factor again today. Patrick Cripps is the #1 contested possession player in the league. He’s been massive for the Blues and will need to continue to be strong for Carlton to be in this. Eyes are on Tom Boyd, he’s finally back in the team and we’ve been vocal on the Dogs’ lack of forward options so this will definitely help them tonight. This should be a close one. The defenses of both teams are the worst in the AFL, it could come down to who can stop their respective forwards.
Cripps scored a MASSIVE 151 last week. He should be in your team. Make it happen!
If you’ve still got Alex Naughton in defense, hold tight, he’s coming good and scoring well enough that his price will continue to rise for at least two more week.
Tip and Best Bets
This is almost a flip of the coin type match! The sensible tip is the Bulldogs, which is I’ve tipped. Solely because I’m not confident enough to back the Blues yet.
Should be a close one!
