πŸ‰ AFL Round 7 – Western Bulldogs vs Gold Coast πŸ‰

Saturday 5th, April / MARS Stadium / 1:45

The Bulldogs and Suns face off at the second ever match at Ballarat this afternoon. The Dogs played Port Adelaide last year and lost by 17 points after leading most of the match.

Gold Coast are a game ahead of the Bulldogs on the ladder while the Dogs come in to this match hoping to string together some confidence after beating Carlton last Friday.

It’s hard to know which Bulldogs will turn up. They played well against Essendon, Sydney and Carlton but against GWS, West Coast and Freo they looked in all sorts with an average loss of 62 points.

Bulldogs have the edge over Gold Coast in recent times, winning their last 4 and Luke Dalhaus enjoyed his two recent outings against the Suns combining for 5 goals and 50 touches.

It’s shaping up to be a cold day in Ballarat with moderate winds expected so it could be yet another low-scoring affair especially with two of the worst goal-kicking teams in the league.

The Dogs are WOEFUL in front of goal with a 38.5 % efficiency, while the Suns aren’t much better with only a 44.9 % rating.

As mentioned in previous previews, the Dogs are excellent at getting the ball inside 50 but they can’t convert their chances and it’s whats hurting them the most. Despite averaging a league high marks inside 50, they still sit 2-4 and 15th on the ladder.

And the Suns, despite leading the league in tackles, cannot capitalise on the pressure with a league-low disposal efficiency of 65.8 % and are only leading Carlton in total possessions.

This is a hard match to tip and it will most likely come down to who can start stronger and maintain that scoreboard pressure.

Gold Coast lose Tom Lynch and Steven May for the clash, which will make it tough.

Tip and Best Bets

The BulldogsΒ shouldΒ win this one, but nothing is a guarantee in this game. Should be a low-scoring affair but not confident enough to back the unders considering how low they’ve dropped this week.

Going the Dogs in a tight one.

Luke Dalhaus anytime scorer + over 20 touches / Sportsbet (SGMulti) / 1.80 [1 unit]

Gold Coast +34.5 / 1.95 / Pointsbet [1.5 units]
